Bandstand Beds

Food growing in the heart of Clapham

We are a community garden, sustained by dedicated volunteers, aiming to get their hands dirty, get outside, grow vegetables and have a good time. Growing everything from squash to salad and veg for your Sunday roast.

We pride ourselves on providing an area for the local community to discover the joys and benefits of growing and cooking their own food, with the added benefit of taking home freshly picked fruit and vegetables.

Are you interested in the community, gardening, sustainability, the environment, your health or knowledge sharing? If the answer is yes, then drop in and see us.

Our garden is open…

Saturdays • We are a fun group of people who meet to garden between 10am and 1pm with tea and cake at around 11.30. There is a table at our main gate with freshly harvested produce which is available to the public for a donation. Some Saturdays we also hold a laidback lunch or bring and share picnic.

Keep Growing Mondays • A gardening session for the over 55s. A chance to get outdoors in the garden, relax and meet people.

Wednesday evenings • During the summer months we meet on a Wednesday evening from 6pm until around 7.30pm to garden and harvest veg.

    Colour Your Common

1pm to 4pmWindmill Drive, Clapham Common

We're working with Clapham Common Management Advisory Committee (CCMAC) to create and amazing wildflower haven on the Common, opposite out garden on Windmill Drive.

The plan is to have strips of wildflower planting running across the grass and with the help of GoodGym Lambeth digging off the top layer of turn one of these is now almost complete (pic right).

But there are about five more to do... HELP!

Fancy a free workout on the Common this Saturday? Then get down digging with us! And for those who fancy something a little more sedate there's loads of seed sowing to be done.

But it won't be all work and no play, we'll be round off the afternoon with Easter eggs (maybe hidden) and
    hot-cross buns.

Sounds like your idea of a fun afternoon on the Common? Then head for our garden on Windmill Drive at 1pm.

    Everyone welcome!
