Thursday 15th August 7.30AM (note the time) pumpkin sexing and seed saving workshop – at the Pumpkin Patch

Can you identify a male and a female flower? Why is it easy to save bean seed but pumpkins are so tricky? Learn about seed saving – the botany, the practice and why seed saving is important in the food economy.

Thursday 22nd August & Thursday 19th September from 6.00PM at the Bandstand Beds and then the Pumpkin Patch

Bed maintenance tasks and chatting from 6pm. From 7.15 or so at the Windmill for Bandstand Beds Association monthly meeting. Join us in August if you’d like to get involved with the feasting and recipe book writing. At the September meeting we’ll be honing those arrangements for October as well as setting tasks for November’s planning meeting (funding!) and December’s Christmas get together, as well as looking ahead to the January AGM and seed swap!

Saturday 21st September at the Bandstand Beds with tours of the Punpkin Patch

Edible Gardens Day – we’ll be giving information and growing advice at the beds as part of this Capital Growth nation-wide day.
