January’s a funny old time of year. With the festivities finally over you can begin to fall foul of the doldrums. That’s not the case for our gardeners, who are already looking forward to the next growing season.
Especially when they remind themselves of the amazing time we all had at last year. And if you don’t believe me, see Ollie Smallwood’s film From Seed to Feast.
We just can’t kick this year’s growing season off and start seed sowing, but before we can do that we need to sort out the polytunnel!

One of our aims in 2018 was to raise money to install a pathway through our polytunnel to resolve a drainage issue and make it fully accessible for year-round gardening
To help make this happen we were recently selected for a Tesco Bags of Help for a grant of £1,000, £2,000 or £4,000 depending on the in-store vote by shoppers. So please pick up a token at the till and vote for us when shopping in any of the following Tesco stores…

With the money from Tesco Bags of Help produce donations from 2018, we hope to be able to start the pathway installation in spring. Before this can happen there is a lot of clearing to be done in and around the polytunnel to prepare for the work to begin, so we’ll be back in our garden on Saturday 19 January to make a start.
There’ll also be some lettuce, cavolo nero and chard to pick. And delicious warm soup at the end of the morning!
