Food growing in the heart of Clapham
We are a community garden run by dedicated volunteers, aiming to get their hands dirty, get outside, grow vegetables and have a good time.
We pride ourselves on providing an area for the local community to discover the joys and benefits of growing and cooking their own food, with the added benefit of taking home freshly picked fruit and vegetables.
We growing everything from squash to salad and veg for Sunday roast. And all of this lovely local produce is available to our members and passers-by for a donation, which goes towards keeping our garden growing.
Are you interested in the community, gardening, sustainability, the environment, your health and wellbeing or knowledge sharing? If the answer is yes, then drop in and see us – or take a peak at our activities From Seed to Feast in 2018.
Our community garden is self-sustaining and has been built with grant funding, in-kind support from Lambeth Council and generous donations from visitors to our produce stall on Saturday mornings.
We are raising funds for two projects this year, composting bays on the site next to our garden so we can recycle all of our garden waste and our Feast & Car Free Day celebration on Saturday 25 September. We are looking to raise £2,000. Can you help? If so, please click on this GoFundMe link.
We garden on Saturdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm, Wednesday evenings from 5 to 7pm and run an over 55s session on Monday from 2 – 4pm.
Due to Covid-19, access to our community growing spaces is currently restricted to BBA members only, and the number of people attending our gardening sessions is in accordance with the Government’s current guidelines.

With spring bustin’ out all over it’s time to start some serious seed sowing!
We'll be joining Capital Growth’s national day of edible action by hosting a Good to Grow event in our community garden.
We’ll be sowing sunflowers, squash and pea shoots to grow at home on windowsills, ready to plant outdoors when the weather is warmer.
If you would like to take part in our Good to Grow event please email to book a place.
Please note: We will work in small groups, observing social distancing and there will be restrictions on numbers in the garden.

It''s been a tough time for lots of older people during Covid, including lots of our members who have been unable to come along the garden because they've been shielding.
Now, with most over 55s having received the vaccine and with the easing of restrictions, we're able to invite our members back along to the Monday Grown Up Gardening sessions.
Our garden's a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the Common, potter among the plants, meet people and chat – so why not join us!
For information about Bandstand Beds membership click on this link.
We are regulating numbers in the garden so if you would like to attend please email email@example.com

One of our founder members, Diana Linskey, is a dab hand at chutney making and it’s become an annual event for her to share her skills with us – see our website.
Diana has some fabulous recipes (see link) including a delicious Seasonal Chutney – a perfect gift for friends.
During the session Diana will take you on a step-by-step guide from chopping veg to jarring up the finished product, and everyone will have a jar of chutney to take home!
If you would like to attend take part in this workshop, email firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a place.
To cover the cost of some of the ingredients and materials for this workshop we ask for a pay what you can afford donation.
This workshop will be run in accordance with the Government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines.
