A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the CCMAC Common People May Day celebrations. Such a fantastic day and so sunny! There was lots of pumpkin sowing at the Bandstand Beds with people entering our 3 x £25 prize pumpkin competition. Plus we raised £40 from our plant sale! And it was brilliant to join such a friendly crowd gathering to watch the amazing performances on the Bandstand – and joining in with the dance!
The next Bandstand Beds gardening session will be on Saturday 7 June at the Spinney Beds – opposite the children’s playground on Windmill Drive.
However, if you want to do join in some community gardening in the meantime, come along to Clapham Manor Planting day on Saturday 17 May, from 10am onwards. Meet us at the raised beds on Cresset Street.
And it’s not too late to take part in our prize pumpkin competition. Just pop a pip in a pot and pop it on the windowsill. Then plant out once all chance of frost has passed. The pumpkins will be judged at out autumn feast (details to follow).
