Polytunnel up and ready to go
Brilliant day on Saturday working in the new polytunnel. Ground needed levelling and so many hands made good work of shovelling, raking, and levelling the ground inside the new polytunnel. Then we salvaged some chairs from around the site and had a picnic before planning our next steps.

Litterpickin’ good!
We had an amazing turnout of people come along to our Capital Clean-up Pick-nic event at the Green Waste Depot on Clapham Common on 27 June. We picked up all manner of things from crisp bags to half-buried bottles and broken ceramic pots, and a couple of old shoes. Both left feet. Unfortunately no buried…

Gooseberry fooled?
On Saturday morning we discovered an important fact of life, that there is absolutely no truth in the old wives’ tale about what you find under gooseberry bushes. Nope, no babies! Our bushes were simply laden with berries, which Dee and Amanda picked and plan to freeze to use later… With the help of a…

Berry good indeed!
We were thrilled to arrive for our gardening session and discover that Iain Boulton had been working with volunteers from Lloyds Bank who had done some major weeding. Big thanks to them! What more could you ask for? Things kicked off at around midday with the arrival of the Brixton People’s Kitchen mobile cooker, which was cycled over to Clapham…

We’ll be picking, preparing and sharing delicious food made from our home-grown veggies – pumpkin soup, squash chili and bean burgers! It’s free fun for everyone! Dress to…

Lots of little helpers!
Saturday morning, where better to be than the beds! It was great fun meeting everyone who came along to help or just to say hello. Even a tiny frog hopped in. No, that’s Nina and her dad Tarun (right) planting herbs! Freddie the frog was hiding under some leaves. Good to know he’s there helping…
